Welcome Back

I hope everyone had a wonderful and joyous vacation and is ready to get back to work!! We have had a very good day so far today and I am looking forward to a wonderful semester!!! We will be going to the computer lab on Monday, Wednesday and Friday this semester. Be expecting some stories to be coming home and very soon the first book from the computer lab. Be sure to read over all the words with your kinderkid. We have been working very hard!!! We will also be working on addition, subtration, telling time and money. Of course reading daily so be sure to practice the popcorn words nightly with your child.
Thanks to Sarah for bringing in the jinormous bag of pop tops we are collecting for the Ronald McDonald House with our Friday Friends!!! The kids went nuts! If you have any (I brought 7) pop tops (like the one on soda cans) send them in. Thanks!
I also gave each child their very own dry erase marker. They are responsible for keeping up with it and putting the top on it after each use. If it dries out or is lost, I will be contacting you for a replacement. Thanks for your help!
Stay warm!

Happy September!!!

I can’t believe it is already September. We are making so much progress in Kindergarten. We have learned 6 new words so far. The Bee Books are working out well for me- hope they are for you too. The Warrior Walk is coming up on September 14. I hope you are getting your pledges and all the parents are planning to come to cheer on the kinderkids. Please practice the sight words and read each night. It makes a difference in your child’s day!!!

It was great meeting everyone on Registration Day!! I am excited about the start of school and getting to know all the kinderkids. Please read over all the materials ( sorry it’s so much) about Kindergarten especially concerning dismissal. We want all the children to be safe during that time. Don’t forget to come to the Parent Night on Monday August 16 at 7:00. I will be giving you LOTS of info about our classroom. I hope to see you then.

We Are Back In The Swing!!

It’s been hard getting back in the swing of school, with snow days and inservice days but I think today was our best day yet! We are reading so well and having a wonderful time in computer. Thanks for all your help at home. Tomorrow I will be sending home baggie books. Please read them with your child or let them read them to you and send them back to school for more books. We will do that until the end of school! Send in your pennies and your reservations for the breakfasts in February. That is always a very special time. Stay warm and keep reading.

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas

I am so excited that my web page is up and running (maybe it is the person doing the typing!!!) but now we have more ways to communicate information.  The Christmas Party will be on Friday Dec. 18.  That day will be a half day and we will dismiss at 11:00.    Each child should bring a new book ($5) to school by Dec 14.  Boys bring a boys book and girls bring a girls book.

The day before,Thursday the 17th, will be Polar Express Day.  We will be watching the movie in intervals throughout the day and doing activities to go along with the movie.  The kinderkids may bring their PJ’s, robes and slippers to school but please send them in their school clothes and tennis shoes especially if they have PE.

Thanks for all the work you have done this year in our classroom and with your child at home.  I can tell they are reading at home and working on their popcorn words.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Christmas and I can’t wait to see you back in 2010.
